Bigots and the brainwashed believe that with the end of the sixties, hippies ceased to exist. So, how do we explain contemporary hippie kids? As you'll see here, we can often tell that these children are countercultural just by looking at them.
Also, a popular stereotype of hippies portray them as neglectful, irresponsible parents and as people kids aren't safe being around--after all, those "dirty hippies" are the ones trying to kill our kids by selling them drugs, right? As we should realize, many of those children the hippie-haters say they're trying to protect are, in fact, hippie themselves.
So, consider these: photos taken of various hippie families--including one three-generation family--at Nedfest 2007, a countercultural music festival happening every August in the town of Nederland, Colorado, nestled in the mountains some 15 miles west of Boulder, Colorado.
Please note, we are interested in seeing your hippie-family photos. Photos where the family members are visibly hippie are preferred though we will post others. Please send any caption information with the photo that you would feel comfortable having published on this site. We reserve the right to edit such material. Thanks.

We realize there's a scarcity of males here and don't mean to imply that most hippie families are single-mother families. Rather, we suspect the males often were back in the crowd, that the mothers were the ones taking kids to get water and so forth when we encountered them.
We also apologize for some of the photo quality: The Internet gives us lesser-evil choices where we're forced to balance photo quality with download time, and we would like our pages to be available to dial-up-connection users as well as others.
